A Free Market of Ideas

George Bernard Shaw said: "Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it." It is true, most people are terrified of liberty, petrified they might have to be responsible for their own lives. "The Autonomist," is not for them.

The Mysterious Appeal of Polygamy and Obama
Burt Prelutsky—10/11/10
I have never watched a TV series called "Big Love," which deals with a polygamous family, so I have no opinion of the show. However, I was at a dinner party recently where a few people were discussing it. Nothing, I hasten to add, that was said made me want to tune in. Is The Day Of Great Leaders Past?
Chuck Baldwin—10/8/10
A column co-authored by John Eidsmoe and Ben DuPre struck me. They titled their column, "What makes a 'great' president?"

J. D. Longstreet—10/8/10
We have seen AP reports in the past few days that report the Afghanistan government is talking with Taliban leaders to end the war in Afghanistan. The top commander in Afghanistan, Gen. David Petraeus is reported to have said: "There are very high-level Taliban leaders who have sought to reach out to the highest levels of the Afghan government and indeed have done that ... "
