Pastor from 9/11 Burn a Koran Day Requests Meeting with Ground Zero Imam for a Peaceful Resolution

August 24th, 2010 For Immediate Release:

Dr. Terry Jones, Pastor of Dove World Outreach Center and leader of the September 11th “International Burn a Koran Day”, has proposed a meeting with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the cleric at the center of the “Ground Zero Mosque” plans.

The proposed meeting will be to negotiate a peaceful resolution for each of their situations. The Cordoba House and Mosque in lower Manhattan, frequently called the Ground Zero Mosque, has drawn disapproval from a large number of Americans. The intended Quran Burning on September 11th has drawn international condemnation and has been targeted by numerous Islamic terrorist organizations. Dr. Jones said this morning that “we believe that a peaceful solution can be achieved for the best interests of the American people.”
